Know anyone with a proper movie room in their home? Ever thought of having your own movie room? Well, you’re already almost there. You see, if your bedroom is big enough for an oversized mattress, you’re one or two steps away from a proper movie room. Read on to see how more and more people are enjoying a full luxury experience watching movies from their beds.

Why are so many people upgrading their home movie experience?

Theaters were closed for an excruciatingly long time just recently. We had no choice but to watch our favorite movies at home. Popcorn, pizza, your favorite drink, and all the goodies you could want right at your fingertips are some of the pros of watching movies from home.

Now that theaters are open again, many people have become hooked on enjoying movies in the lap of luxury at home. No parking. No babysitters. No outrageous prices on snacks are hard to give up.

Save yourself $30,000 to $70,000

That’s how much money you’ll save converting your bedroom into a home theater. The national average spent on building a separate home theater is tens of thousands of dollars, according to the experts. And like every single home renovation I’ve ever done, it can take twice as much money and triple the amount of time you expect it to take.

If you’ve got money to burn and you still want a separate home theater room, start here. Then when you’re all done building, you can upgrade from some silly recliners to a big, oversize adjustable mattress and adjustable bed frame anyway.

Home cinema essentials in 3 simple steps

You don’t need a separate “movie room .”With some easy changes, your bedroom is perfectly suited for it.

1.        Pick out an over size adjustable mattress and base

Just like movie screens – the bigger the mattress, the better the experience! Seriously, would you rather watch a movie reclined on a chair or reclined on a big, comfy adjustable bed?

Cuddle time – You can’t cuddle on a recliner. Even recliners built for two keep each person hemmed in and separated. On an over size adjustable mattress, you’ll have enough room for your partner, your kids, and your furry kids. It makes it so easy to cuddle together during the scary scenes.

2.        Get a big screen on a small budget

Suppose you have the means for a giant screen tv great. They cost a lot less these days than they used to. The other way to go is a fabric screen and a small projector. A digital projector creates an excellent image on a fabric screen. Both are easy to put up and put away when you’re all done.

3.        Load up on movie night munchies

No movie theater is ever going to be able to match what you can have at home. And it will only be a tiny fraction of the cost. Popcorn with real butter is just a start. You can even match your snacks to the movie you’re watching.

Southwest Tex-Mex for a western and anchovies on a pizza for a horror night. Cotton candy for a comedy and chicken wings for --- whatever you’re watching. By the way, adult refreshments are another option that’s available whenever you’re in the mood. Skip the lines at the movie theaters this holiday season!

Don’t make the big adjustable base mistake

Just because you have an oversize mattress doesn’t mean you can use it on an adjustable bed frame. It’s an easy mistake to make, and plenty of people, unfortunately, make it. Your oversize mattress must be designed and built to be adjustable.

Putting a regular mattress on an adjustable bed frame can damage it, and you might have trouble taking it back. Please do your research first and ask an expert at your local mattress retailer for advice.

Quick tips on oversize adjustable mattresses

Custom beds or custom mattresses are not necessarily considered adjustable or oversize. They must be larger than a standard king size, and they must be designed and constructed to be adjustable. Size does matter when it comes to creating your home theater dream.

A Queen size bed just doesn’t cut it, and a king-size bed will leave you wanting more space. A California King is a little longer than a regular king but not as wide. A Texas King is 80 inches wide by 98 inches long, and an Alaskan King mattress is 108 inches wide and 108 inches long.

Materials matter to your sleep

Just in the last few years, the technology and the materials used in mattresses have advanced dramatically. Your standard innerspring mattress and box spring are old news. You can pick the benefit of memory foam, cooling gels, and pocketed coils to create the sleep and movie experience you’re looking for.

If you’ve never slept on one of these high-tech mattresses, it’s hard to imagine what it’s like. A good idea would be to request a sleep trial from your local mattress expert to try out the mattress first.

The bonus benefits of the Family Bed

A fabulous night at the movies at home – but wait, there’s more. Having an oversize bed that’s adjustable can help you sleep better too. Raising and lowering your torso and your legs can help you find the most comfortable sleeping position. People who have aches and pains often find keeping their legs raised can help. Keeping your head and torso raised a little can help those who have acid reflux.

Sleep apnea sufferers also tend to get relief from a sleep position that elevates the upper body. With an adjustable bed frame and an adjustable over size mattress, you can raise the head and foot of your bed to your heart’s content.
